Community Investment

A Philosophy of Giving Back

Each year, tnConnect is proud to give back to the community in a variety of ways. As a not-for-profit cooperative, we understand the importance of being a responsible member of our community.

Coats for the Cold

In chilly Knoxville, TN, where winters can be brisk, the necessity for warm coats is paramount. We've teamed up with Knox Area Rescue Ministries Coats to ensure that no one faces the bitter cold without proper protection. Through our partnership, we provide coats to those in need, offering warmth and comfort during the coldest months. Together, we strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals facing the harsh realities of winter, embodying the spirit of community and compassion.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

"Cell Phones for Soldiers” is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services to active-duty military members and veterans. Through our partnership with this organization, we contribute by supplying cell phones and minutes to those serving our country, ensuring they can stay connected with their families and loved ones regardless of their location. By working together, we help alleviate the burden of communication costs for our servicemen and women, offering them the support they deserve as they bravely serve our nation.

Second Harvest Food for Kids Program

Since 2008, tnConnect has been a vital partner in the Second Harvest Food for Kids Program, offering crucial support to combat childhood hunger in the community. Through this initiative, children receive a backpack filled with eight nutritious items every Friday, ensuring they have sustenance over the weekend when school meals are unavailable. tnConnect's dedication to this program reflects its commitment to ensuring no child goes hungry, empowering them to thrive academically and socially. By providing essential nourishment, tnConnect contributes to the holistic well-being of these children, embodying compassion while making a tangible difference in their lives.

Scholarship Program

tnConnect is proud to offer an annual scholarship program, providing $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing higher education. Applicants should be high school seniors who are tnConnect members planning to enroll in any 2 or 4-year college or technical college. East Tennessee Children’s Hospital

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is the region's only fully independent pediatric facility, dedicated solely to the care and well-being of children. In a time when medical debt is the leading cause of financial instability for many families in the U.S., we recognize the critical role the hospital plays in supporting our community. Many of the families we serve have relied on East Tennessee Children's Hospital for essential care, creating a strong bond between us and the communities we support.

We are proud to partner with East Tennessee Children's Hospital to help meet the needs of the hospital, its urgent care centers, and the families they serve. This partnership continues the credit union’s long standing tradition of focusing resources within our local community, enabling us to support the health and well-being of children in the areas we serve.
